Reds Set high standers for Team

Wallabies and Reds backrowers Harry Wilson and Liam Wright were influenced by the swift development of the roster when they returned to the full preseason.

After spending time with the Wallabies during the Rugby Championship, the two rejoined earlier this month.

With the many unforeseen occurrences of their team playing in 2021 (31 of 35 players) staying at Balimor until 2022, the captain immediately saw an increase in intensity and hunger as they tried to build on their success in Super Rugby AU.
"This team looks very impressive," Wright believed.

"For many of us, this is the third week of the preseason. We have to expand the standards and intensity because they are working hard. Changes in body shape, improvements in basic skills and game development, and adequate health.

"We get pleasure from our time. When we left, the team raised the bar in our absence. We still have a long preseason ahead of us, but the team is currently in a healthy state."

2021 is a breakthrough year for the Red, defeating the Brumbies team at the last minute and ending a ten-year drought that has not won the championship.

This allowed them to be nominated as the Team of the Year at the Queensland Sports Awards, and Brad Thorne was nominated as the Coach of the Year.

Although they have achieved success at the domestic level, this did not translate into a trans-Tasman season. They have won just one game out of five games.

When they were preparing for the first Super Rugby Pacific season, the eighth-ranked Harry Wilson believed they entered the game with sufficient motivation because they wanted to make history.

Wilson said, "It was great to win Super Rugby AU”.

"We are now very motivated to improve next year and try to win this new tournament.

"I want to win new events with the boys, so I am highly motivated to put myself in the best shape and do my best to win my place in the team."
