The 2022 Rugby Championship is an annual international rugby union event hosted by four teams Australia, Argentina, South Africa, and New Zealand. The competition first took place in 1996, when New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa were played and then the tournament was called the Tri-Nations.

The All Blacks beat the Wallabies and Springboks at home and away to win their first Tri-Nation title.

In 2012, Argentina joined the competition and since then the Rugby championship has been a four-team competition.

In 2020, South Africa was unable to play in the competition due to the pandemic outbreak, so that year Australia, Argentina, and New Zealand played three teams competition that year.

When And Where Will Be Held The Rugby Championship In 2022?

The 2022 Rugby Championship will begin on 6 August when Springboks will play against All Blacks at Mbombela Stadium. Then Argentina will face off Australia in Mendoza.

Those games will be repeated seven days later, due to the reorganization of the format, when the Springboks take on the All Blacks in Johannesburg and the Wallabies take on the Los Cougars in San Juan.

After a week of inactivity, the Springboks travel to Adelaide to play Australia, and the same day Argentina takes on the All Blacks in Christchurch.

Those matches will also be repeated on September 3, when New Zealand will battle Argentina in Hamilton, ahead of the Wallabies host Springboks in Sydney.

On Thursday, September 15, round 5 will start, when New Zealand will play against Australia at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. After two days, Argentina will take on Springboks in Buenos Aires

These games will be reversed in the final round when New Zealand takes on the Wallabies at Eden Park before the 2022 Rugby Championship concludes in Durban, where South Africa takes on Argentina.
